Infosys Salutes Mr. Murthy: Technology Leader. Visionary. Humanitarian Giant

I received the news of Mr. NR Narayana Murthy being awarded the James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award, with great delight. But, I'm not surprised at all. As the inspiration behind Infosys and mentor to countless Infoscions, Mr. Murthy has always been passionately vocal about his belief that wealth must serve a societal purpose. And he has done everything within his personal capacity to promote causes such as healthcare and rural development in India.

We, at Infosys, are privileged to be able to carry Mr. Murthy's vision forward though the activities of the Infosys Foundation, which works along with Non-Governmental Organizations to provide healthcare, education and other care to our nation's underprivileged rural community. These initiatives are consistent with our organization's vision of using our technology to solve the world's pressing problems, wherever possible.

So, when Mr. Murthy is formally honored at the Santa Clara Convention Center at this year's "The Tech Awards", Infosys will share his joy and pride in equal measure. As well as renew our commitment to the legacy that he has left us.

Narayana Murthy (or NRN as he is fondly called) is truly a giant of a human in how much he has contributed to this society. He is leaving behind this rich legacy which every Infoscion is proud to be part of.
