Oracle's promising BI Roadmap - Taking the joy ride together (Part 2) !!

(continued from Part 1)

Oracle BI Applications are pre-built analytic applications compatible with any IT environment, consisting of prebuilt metadata for common industry analytics processing such as Sales, Service, Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Financial Analytics, Procurement and Spend and so on.

The Oracle BI platform includes a server and end user tools such as dashboards, query and analysis, enterprise reporting, disconnected access to the data, all supported by a unified, model-centric server architecture. On top of this platform, the analytic applications consume the operational data sources and delivers greater insight to larger user communities across the organization via dashboards, query and analysis, alerts, briefing books, and disconnected analytics. The solution also offers more components including alerting and mobile analytics that come with the unified platform for metadata and heterogeneous environments.

Rather than buying a variety of different BI, ETL, and data warehousing tools, then building everything from scratch, organizations can leverage Oracle prebuilt BI applications to save significant time and money. These prebuilt solutions enable organizations to roll out BI more quickly and with a greater chance of success to broad audiences of users.

Almost 70-80% of organization needs can be met with Oracle's prebuilt BI applications. Rest of the requirements can be addressed by involving an efficient implementation partner such as Infosys. Infosys has proven credentials of successful implementations across the globe.

The nice thing about Oracle BI is that you have the option - you can build BI from scratch, leverage a prebuilt BI application, or do a mix of both in the same environment. Regardless of the approach, you can maintain one common BI architecture.

Oracle BI Apps is a step forward from operational excellence, towards management excellence  for being -

  • Smart - gain better insight than your competitors
  • Agile - adapt faster than competitors to market changes
  • Aligned - effective allocation of resources across the organization
