On-the-go Computing for Enterprise Mobility

The pervasive use of mobile devices and the proliferation of application stores are changing business equations. It is estimated that more than 5 billion mobile devices are in use today. Core enterprise applications must be mobile-enabled for ubiquitous computing by customers and employees. Companies must develop new business models to ensure 'anywhere, anytime access' and unleash the potential of mobility.

CRM Shifts in the Age of Digital Consumers and Social Media

In 1999, P&G launched Reflect.com, an online retailer of health and beauty products, that raised the bar for personalized products and service. It enabled women to create their own make-up, skincare and haircare products by choosing from a wide range of colors, fragrances and ingredients. It may have been an idea ahead of its time (Reflect.com shut down in 2005), but consumers are now taking a leaf out of P&G's book.

If Warren Buffett was a CIO, he would invest in the cloud

Warren Buffett needs no introduction. He has few peers when it comes to selecting stocks that deliver exceptional returns. He is equally well known for shying away from stocks of technology companies. At the 2000 annual meeting of Berkshire Hathaway, he stated, "It is not that we don't understand a technology business or its product. The reason we don't invest is because we can't understand the predictability of the economics ten years hence."
